So glad to see you on Substack! About a month ago, I added your reddit comments to my RSS feed. Honestly, I can't thank you enough for all the insight! Your posts brighten my day and trigger bouts of Self-Reflection :P .
Thank-you! Looking forward to more of your long-form writing!
Much appreciated! Hopefully the crossover with my initial thoughts on Reddit won't be too obviously apparent - I have about 15 drafts half-finished that are based on some very challenging questions which need further reflection.
You're absolutely correct! "Kierkegaard" appears numerous times in Monk's biography, with Wittgenstein first reading translations in Haecker's journal and later learning Danish to experience the works as poetry. When we know this, it's very easy to spot Kierkegaard's influence on Wittgenstein—something that I'm indebted to Schönbaumsfeld and Watts for helping me understand better.
